In brief: For HCV?
Interferon gamma and Ribavirin has been the standard of care for treatment of hepatitis c virus infections.
Success rates have been poor, however. Newer antiviral agents are now available and being used in patients who did not have successful treatment with interferon and ribavirin. You should talk to your doctor about new options.

In brief: 2 new drugs
I assume you're asking about treatment for hepatitis c.
There are now 2 new drugs, telaprevir and boceprevir, which, when combined with interferon and ribarvirin, are much more likely to cure hepatitis c than interferon and Ribavirin alone. They're difficult drugs to take, and easier ones are coming that won't require interferon. People without a lot of fibrosis can consider waiting a few years.
