My heart skips sometimes but I'm afraid to ask my doctor for an ecg/ekg. Normally they listen to my heart for like 3 seconds and that's it. ?

In brief: Premature beat

Hi. Usually what you describe is a premature contraction with a compensatory pause.
They are benign. If they only occur occasionally, an ECG is unlikely to catch one. A Holter monitor is more likely. But tell us more about this fear of asking your doctor problem. That sounds more serious. Good luck!
