Acne. Doryx (doxycycline) or Doxycycline is the drug of choice for acne.
Yes. This should not be a problem.
Yes. Yes, the two should be fine together. They are from different classes of antibiotics, and there shouldn't be any interactions between the two.
Would it be bad to take an antibiotic such as doryx (doxycycline) for my acne while taking probiotics?
Doxycycline. This antibiotic may kill many of the strains of bacteria contained in probiotics, but beyond that it is not bad in the sense that it is likely to cause further problems.
It can. Not only does the Doxycycline suppress the bacteria that cause acne, it exhibits an modest antiinflammatory effect. Coming off of it may lead to an acne flare, but that is not guaranteed.
I had bad side effects on doxyxycline. I was prescribed Doryx (doxycycline) 150 mg for acne. Since it is delayed released would the symptoms be milder?
Depends. If it was a stomach side effect (cramps, diarrhea) possibly. However, skin reactions like severe sunburns, etc should not be affected by a delayed release. Allergic reactions would also not be affected to any degree.
Probably not. Take it until the acne is improved. It can be resumed later if needed.
How long does doxycycline hyclate take to improve acne? I'm on 50mg 1x day, been 6-7wks. Acne is worse and spread to other places I've never had acne
Are you. Are you using other meds with the doxycycline?
6 weeks. Need at least 4-6 weeks to see improvement.
YES. Doxycycline is a very safe antiotic and attacks many differents bacterias, mainly from the skin.
