Had cholecystectomy 2 months taking sucralfate for a week for bile reflux. Really bad chest pain and sore throat. How long for sucralfate to work?

1 to 2 weeks. I would think that if the sucralfate is going to actually help, you should start noticing some improvement within 1 to 2 weeks. If you do not, then I would return to your doctor for the next step in the work up and/or the treatment of your symptoms. Good luck.
