In brief: Coenzyme Q10

Cholesterol lowering Statins do seem to lower Coenzyme Q10 levels.
Statins also cause muscle aches and pains (myopathies). Coenzyme Q10 deficiency MAY be one mechanism for statin-induced myopathies. However, taking Coenzyme Q10 with statins to decrease the probability of developing statin-induced myopathies is unproven. Myopathies usually resolve by just switching to another statin.

Unproven but safe -- so many recommend taking CoQ10 along with their statins anyway.
