If it happens, how soon after the start of chemo and radiation can a doctor stop treatments for palliative leading to hospice care?

In brief: Hospice

This may occur at any time, depending upon the likelihood that the patient is going to benefit substantially from the chemo/rads.
If the patient decides that they have had enough treatment then referral to hospice is quite appropriate. Too often patients have hopes that are not in accordance with the likelihood of response. They need to discuss this with the oncologist.
