The goal of ehrs is to ideally prevent errors and duplication of tests and procedures.
However, it has often resulted in inaccurate excessive documentation, transcription errors, and lost productivity (which varies - some providers are more productive). I think we have a ways to go to realize the benefits of ehrs, but I do not believe they are inherently harmful.
