Dr. Kuitem's correct. Strep throat had to be checked for, because failure to treat, even if symptoms resolve, can lead to rheumatic fever and/or rheumatic heart disease.

Not a bad idea, especially if you have fever.
I would want them to rule out strep throat. Could just be viral, but better to be checked.
