During diabetes what are steps to be taken to be healthy?

Monitor blood sugars. Monitor your blood sugars, maintain a healthy weight (lose weight if necessary), exercise as much as possible to mobilize blood sugars.
Diet, exercise. Proper diet (low fat, low cholesterol, low carbohydrate, minimal sugar) is very important. Exercise is also important. And taking your medications and/or Insulin may also be necessary. Heart disease is the most common & serious complication to prevent/treat from diabetes. If one has a normal weight, healthy diet, is active, and follows his/her doctor's recommendations, one can stay healthy.
