What is a nonverbal learning disability?

Rt. hemisphere weak. Non verbal learning disability refers to weakness of skills mediated by right hemisphere of the brain. These include organization and executive function skills. People with NVLD are more dependent on left hemisphere skillls, which are language based, tend to be literal in their use of language, tend to be rigid thinkers.
Learning disability. (LD) affects a person’s ability to receive, process, store and respond to information. Non-verbal LD refers to great difficulties with problem solving (that do not involve written or spoken language) and struggles staying organized in terms of time and space, while having (at least on the surface) good language skills. Often undiagnosed, proper psychological testing is necessary for identification.
