In brief: Delivery
Toxemia is only relieved or cured with the delivery of the baby.
If toxemia develops before the pregnancy is carried to full-term, medications, bedrest and close monitoring may be used to try to keep mother & baby stable until baby is a little more mature. Magnesium sulfate is used to reduce seizure risk prior to and during delivery, and other blood pressure medications may be used as well.
