In brief: Usually none
Most scalp hematomas will resolve without any surgery needed.
The body will break the clot down as it does any bruise over time. Rarely if the hematoma is tense and expanding it can be drained by opening the skin and washing the area out. Those on blood thinners may have to stop them for a short time if there is an associated clot/bruise on the brain.
