My blood test says there are abnormal ovalocytes and anisocytosis present. What does this mean?

Red cell morphology. Ovalocytes are red blood cells which have lost their normal biconcave shape. Anisocytosis means that the red cells are of different non-uniform shapes and sizes. These findings are used in conjunction with other elements of your blood count to classify anemia and identify possible causes. Those can include a variety of things that damage rbcs or interfere with their proper maturation.
