Traditionally higher dose oral steroid regimens have been use, looking for a reduction in cpk, a muscle enzyme and maker for disease activity.
Methotreaxate is used quite frequently, and so are azothiprine and cyclophosphamde. My frence is to inject high dose steroids intravenously for three days and to start s.C. Methotrexate. No one regimen works for all.
