Rx for HBP . 19 M of unknown ethnicity or diseases Hx from CA as why is metroprolol better than lisinopril for HBP. ANS: it is not. The best Rx 4 HBP is DASH diet & if that fails diuretics r as good as or better than all other agents. Recommend u goggle JNC 8 for HTN and study their recommendations & rational for choosing meds. Both are effective. Neither is better or worse than the other. They both have their pros and cons. In any particular, one or the other may be preferred based an effectiveness, potential side effects, etc. If your doctor has prescribed either one for you (or maybe someone close to you), you or s/he should ask the doctor why s/he selected either drug. They are. two completely DIFFERENT CLASSES of anti-hypertensive medications!
