In brief: Eye strain...

can occur in addition to dry eyes while one is sitting at the computer for long periods of time.
It would be helpful for you to" listen to your eyes" and rest them to from time to time. Also utilize artificial tears that are over-the-counter 1 to 3 times during computer sessions to keep eyes well lubricated. If the environment is dry, using a humidifier in the room can be helpful too. Good luck!

In brief: Drip drip

Long duration visual concentration can dry out your tear film. A large component is forgetting to blink.
A typical person should blink once every 6-10 seconds. An easier remady than over the counter eye drops would be stopping to reflect on your work for as little as 30seconds every 20min. Tears are also useful but they work better because you have to stop what you are doing to put them in.
