Should someone get tested for herpes without ever having symptoms?

In brief: Herpes testing

The tricky thing about herpes, is that many people don't know they have it.
Thus, if starting in a new relationship where you might be having unprotected sex, then it's a good idea for both partners to get tested. I would add an HIV test to that too, since there's 50,000 new cases of HIV in the US per year-and often spreads 'unknowingly'. Safe sex is recommended considering other STDs like warts.
