Several. An rh-negative pregnant woman is screened for antibodies against d (the main rh antigen) and pregnancy is followed for signs of trouble. If a previous or another type of mismatch is suspected, additional labs are done. If suspected in a newborn, baby gets a direct coombs for antibodies on red cells.
