My 3 year old son has a rash in both armpits and behind both knees. They itch. His armpit ones are spreading. What could this be?

In brief: Sounds like it

could be eczema, a contact rash or a fungal infection.
For the first 2, the treatment would be a cortisone cream and for the third an anti-fungal cream. If he is otherwise well, you could try these over-the-counter and if not better, or worsening or appears ill in any way, I would recommend seeing his pediatrician.
