What are the tests for hepatocellular carcinoma?

Biopsy. Usually a biopsy but a ct or MRI can usually give a good idea or rule it out.
Several. There are imaging tests used to surveil patients at risk for hcc (hepatitis) and include ultrasound, ct and mri. For patients with an abnormal area in the liver, there are blood tests that help determine the level of suspicion than an abnormality represents cancer and includes afp.
A COMBINATION. There is no specific test but a group of test: imaging (ultrasound, ct scan or mri), blood test (AFP) and biopsy for tissue diagnosis. All three necessary.
