In brief: Biopsy,radiology,etc
A biopsy is needed to confirm diagnosis, radiology studies including x-rays and MRI of the primary tumor are also needed.
Total body bone scan or thallium scan and / or pet will be needed to evaluate for bone involvement in other areas or metastases to bone. A chest ct is often obtained to evaluate for pulmonary metastases as well. Basic lab tests and echocardiogram often obtained pre- therapy.
