In brief: Menorrhagia

Having a period for 3 weeks is not normal, so be sure to get checked by a Gynecologist.
Lengthy periods can certainly lead to eventual anemia and cause tiredness, lethargy, etc. Menorrhagia can be caused by abnormal blood clotting, disruption of normal hormonal regulation of periods, or disorders of the endometrial lining of the uterus. Best wishes.

In brief: Pretty common

You are probably having an anovulatory or nonovulatory cycle, where your ovaries are skipping ovulation.
It may self correct, and if it hasn't happened before may not happen again. You can probably stop the bleeding with Progesterone and then allow your cycle to return to norma.l
