My baby will be born end of January. Can I use vaporizer for him? Cool mist or steam? Humidifier or vaporizer, which are better?

In brief: Cool mist

Humidifiers can help with congestion in young children if needed during dry weather.

Heating systems dry out air and make infants uncomfortable. Cool mist vaporizer or humidifier is always helpful Must be kept clean and cleaned on a daily basis. Follow info with machine or speak to your doctor.

In January, you might be using heating, which make the air dry.
So a cool humidifier is what we recommend. I have some tips for new parents here:http://www.healthychildren.org/English/ages-stages/prenatal/decisions-to-make/Pages/Buying-Furniture-and-Baby-Equipment.aspx Also:https://www.evernote.com/l/AAXEzhJqFiVLnrBOTwjjYuCl8pK5SWePRLg Enjoy your new baby!

In brief: Humidifiers/ misters

When you heat your house you dry the air which can parch the airways & lead to sore throat/congested nose/headaches/ cough at any age.
Babies are more susceptible than older kids/adults. Humidifiers are basically a fan that draws air thru a wic that adds unseen water. They improve the environment but must be cleaned (Mold, germs) regularly.Vaporizers add humidity but tend to wet the room/linen/ kid
