Neurosurgery
1 doctor agrees
In brief: Lumbar Puncture/MRI
These two tests help diagnose pseudotumor cerebri.
It is usually a type of high spinal fluid pressure in the brain. It can cause many problems and should be evaluated by your family md, a neurosurgeon, and probably a neuroopthalmologist.

Ophthalmology
In brief: Pseudotumor cerebri
To make a diagnosis of pseudotumor cerebri an indvidual needs an eye exam including visual field testing and dilated eye exam to look at the optic nerves.
In addition an imaging study of the head preferably an MRI scan is necessary and a spinal tap is needed to measure the opening pressure of the spinal fluid and analyze the spinal fluid to make sure it is normal in composition.
