Can children have spinal stenosis or just adults?

Yes. Both children and adults can suffer from spinal stenosis. In children, spinal stenosis is usually as a result of a congenital problem. In adults, the narrowing of the spinal canal often results from arthritis or instability of the spinal column.
Yes. It can occur in either group but symptoms are usually not noted in the pediatric group. The imaging findings may reveal it. There are congenital forms of spinal stenosis and some associated with other syndromes.
