In brief: CBC
A complete blood count (CBC) usually is the simplest test to raise a suspicion to do further testing to prove or disprove leukemia.
A bone marrow biopsy has traditionally been used to diagnose leukemia. Some leukemias can be diagnosed with a blood test called flow cytometry if there are enough leukemia cells circulating in the blood. A combination of these tests provides a more complete profile.
