I've had type 1 diabetes for almost 18 years and now have some retinopathy in the right eye. I would like to get an insulin pump, but can't afford on?

If you already have some of these problems, beter control canlimit the severity of your diseases and may help reverse some of the damage. Get the pump. Read more...

You should be on basal/bolus Insulin regimen (lantus (insulin glargine) once or twice daily, Humalog not humulin before each meal). If this does not improve blood sugars well enough, then one can consider an Insulin pump. See an endocrinologist. Read more...
