In brief: Relaxes muscles

It is an injectable skeletal muscle relaxer. It should be used only by an anesthesia provider as it causes prolonged paralysis of muscles and will stop ones breathing.

In brief: Relaxes muscles

Pancuronium is classified as a nondepolarizing muscle relaxant.
It literally paralyzes skeletal muscles, meaning that a person cannot breathe or move while it is working. It does not affect other muscles such as the heart. The effects go away in time (1-2 hours), or medications can be given to reverse the effects. It must only be used by anesthesia personnel who can support breathing for the pt.
