It is indicated to treat hypertension especially in those with a very rare condition called pheochromocytoma (tumor making excessive adrenaline)--hypertensive emergency etc.
.. It is not normally used for routine treatment of BP these days. It is also sometime used for overactive bladder and raynaud's phenomenon. Overall, it is rarely used. If u r concerned, consult doc. Good luck.
