I am taking Lexapro (escitalopram) for anxiety. I just increased to 5 mg and have bad chest tightness. All heart tests are fine. Should I be worried? Suggestions.

Maybe. Anytime you don't feel well, it is a concern. It is good that your heart tests are fine, but how extensive was your work-up. Ibuprofen could be causing stomach or esophageal irritation which can present as chest tightness too. Chest pain and chest tightness. I've had all heart tests done except cath. Which doctor wont do. This pain is even in my left shoulder and arm and throat gets tight. Even had cta. Anxiety?

Most likely. It would be helpful to know which specific tests you've already had since "all heart tests" is rather vague. If ct angiogram is normal, then it's doubtful that catheterization will find anything different & new to explain your symptoms which can be caused by anxiety. Look elsewhere. Your doctor has made the determination that your pain is not of cardiac origin. There are many other non-cardiac possibilities including rotator cuff pain, tendinitis (in the shoulder), cervical spondylitis, bursitis and many GI causes like gerd and peptic ulcer disease. If the cta is negative, a cath is very unlikely to find disease. Read more...
