In brief: Repeat ultrasound

Depending on the location of the pain, it may have been to early to diagnose an ectopic, or your wife may have a normal implantation and intrauterine pregnancy.
If the pain does not improve, you will need to get another ultrasound to locate the embryo and rule out an ectopic pregnancy -ask your doctor for timing on this repeat ultrasound
