In brief: L.A.D.A. = type 1.5

Latent autoimmune diabetes of adults is called type 1.
5 because patients have some features of type 1 (insulin dependent, juvenile onset, autoimmune) plus some features of type 2 (adult onset, non-insulin dependent). So, type 1.5 patients can be treated without Insulin at first, but after about 5 years, they stop making Insulin (due to autoimmune damage to pancreas) and become Insulin dependent.

In brief: Term used..

By some to represent type 2 , 'typical adult' type diabetic patients, who lose cells that make Insulin near totally, requiring Insulin now to live, ie: like typical type 1 diabetic patients.

More typical definition is type 2 diabetes with signs of autoimmunity (antibodies).
