In brief: Problems.
First, not the best narcotic choice.
Ms-contin is better. But do you need a highly addictive narcotic? If this was your first pain "rx, " see another doctor you always must know the cause for pain.

Do know that chronic opioids can cause hyperalgesia which means as you take more, you pain becomes worse. You may well become tolerant to the dose which means you need more to have the same effect. These are both red flags to search for a board certified addiction specialist for other pain control alternatives.

In brief: OxyContin
Longterm u will develop sexual problems, decreased energy, increased risk of infection, poor bone quality.
There is minimal evidence for opioids in longterm chronic pain of noncancer origin.
