I have a nevus in my eye. I also have a cataract. Will having the cataract removed be a factor in if the nevus becomes cancerous or not?

Not likely a problem. Your cataract, when visually symptomatic, may be removed. There is no connection with it and nevi, which are found in pigmented tissues, such as the iris, ciliary body, and choroid. Very infrequently, a Nevus may tranfrom into a malignant melanoma, which itself, will not affect the previous cataract surgery. I should add that cataracts can be caused by tumors in the eye; eg., ciliary body.
