In brief: Mcl tear
Grade 1 and some grade 2 tears may heal with conservative treatment.
Like brace, rest, over the couter or prescription pain meds such as ibuprifen, Naproxen and physical therapy.Rarely you need arthroscopic surgery.

In brief: Generally yes
Most mcl sprains/tears can be treated with bracing and physical therapy/rehab.
See a sports medicine specialist for a good examination to make sure of the dx-an MRI may be needed to confirm dx+eval other knee structures; if torn ligament is flipped, other ligaments or meniscus are injured, or there is significant residual laxity after bracing, etc surgery may be indicated.
