Had normal/light period that ended 1.5 weeks ago. Have creamy discharge, very sore breasts, and nausea. Took pregnancy test today, negative. Prego?

Too soon to test. Conception, as defined by the generation of a fertilized ovum, occurs within a day or so of sex. However, it takes about two weeks for the embryo to make enough HCG to produce a positive pregnancy test. Blood test may be done a day after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. Use first morning urine and follow instructions for the test carefully.

Pregnant. In my experience with these tests, even a faint line means that you are pregnant. Usually the breast tenderness will be somewhat more than before your normal menses. If you might be pregnant it is a good idea to get on some prenatal vitamins or Folic Acid 1 mg daily as soon as possible. I hope all goes well with your pregnancy. Read more...
