New born babies to Sooth used pacifier?

NO. Do not give a used pacifier to a newborn. It carries a risk of introducing bacteria and fungal elements to an immature immune system. Most hospitals will give you a bew pacifier if you must have one. Or you could let your baby nurse to soothe.
Maybe. Some caution that a pacifier will ruin your baby's chance to breastfeed, which I consider silly. I consider this a cop out by breast feeding coaches who find some kids won't BF. The kid will suck on whatever comes near their lips and self soothe naturally. Better to have a pacifier you can toss later than fingers or a thumb they suck until school age.Be pragmatic, if it works for you use it.
