What can you do for leg cramps at night and pain throughout the day?

Vein trouble? One of the most common symptoms associated with varicose veins and venous insufficiency. If you have leg cramps and veins that you can see in your legs, you would do well to see a vein specialist (phlebologist) for an evaluation. Treating your veins, if they are giving you trouble, can make a world of difference with leg cramps.
Night leg cramps. The best treatment for nocturnal leg cramps is probably stretching the calf muscle by leaning forward against a wall while facing it, keeping your heels on the floor. Supplemental calcium and or potassium sometimes help (particularly if you are on a diuretic). If you are taking a statin medication for cholesterol, that can sometimes be a cause; so you could try stopping it to see if it improves.
