In brief: ?Acute?

Shingles/herpes zoster: flare of varicella (chicken pox virus) can start with one sided pain, itch, maybe feverish, then blistery rash over the course of a few days.
Only in people who already had chick pox, not vaccine. Can lead to painful nerve irritation. Get seen early, get rx early to try to prevent this complication. Vaccine may help prevent shingles, but only 50% effective, less than flu.
