What causes wrist pain, tingling and index finger pain?

Usually nerve compre. The symptoms you describe could be from compressio, pressure on the nerves and sometimes also be the presentation of more serious problems like a neuropathy from diabetes etc. Would recommend a proper evaluation.
Adequate positioning. The wrist and hand needs to be adequately protected and positioned to prevent pain; support of the wrist in typing would be very important.
