Codependency. Learn as much about drug addition as you can. Attend a self-help support group such as ala-non. Understand the concept of co-dependency and work to make sure you don't get caught up in this negative and destructive cycle. Let your boyfriend work their own recovery program, don't try to work it for them.
Be supportive. Seriously! That's how you help anyone thru detox. Provide emotional support and environmental support. They'll need it. As for the detox program itself, that's really up to the medical profession to work w/that person and get them safely thru withdrawal. But friends & family can help by being there to meet all the non-medical needs.
