What does it mean to have a holter monitor?

24 hour monitor. A holter monitor records a person's heart rhythm for 24 hours. It can be used to monitor heart rate, intervals on an electrocardiogram, and look for abnormal heart beats.
Irregular heart beat. A holter monitors your heart rhythm with an ekg over a long period of time, like a full day or two. Looks for causes of irregular heart beat, fainting, or palpitations. Follow your doc's recommendations-- an abnormal heart rhythm can be quite serious.
