Unfortunately, it is impossible to completely predict those that will respond. For this reason, Botox is not considered first line treatment for facial pain.

Botox is very effective for treatment of TMJ/TMD in many cases by a dentist trained in its use.

In brief: Usually

Depending on the type of pain you are having, Botox can be an extremely useful aid in pain relief.
True toothaches are not relieved by Botox. Facial pain of skeletomuscle origin are relieved by Botox quite well

In brief: Maybe if due 2 spasm

If the pain is due to muscle spasm such as with masseteric spasm or cervical dystonia, it is possible that Botox could provide some pain relief as it does with vaginismus.

In brief: Perhaps

Botox is approved for use in people with chronic migraines.
It also is helpful for people with facial spasms. So it all depends on what the cause of your face pain is. You might want to see a neurologist for a full evaluation.
