In brief: Yes, OK insulin only

Hi. Yes, you can certainly use insulin only to control your diabetes.
Pills are absolutely not required. However, Tresiba only provides "basal" insulin, and doesn't cover meal insulin needs at all. I would advise adding a meal insulin to cover meals along with using the Tresiba to achieve lasting tight control. Test BG frequently and be aware of low blood sugar risk. Good luck!
