In brief: Shame
We are always feeling shame by one definition .
That is we feel hurt and confused when things don't go our way. We want our favorite food in a restaurant and they don't have it what is that feeling? It is shame. The norm in society is not to have body odor so it's normal not to want it ; if we have it we feel shame. It is not bad to feel shame it tells us something is wrong, fix the problem.

In brief: Shame
Shame is caused by many things and is experienced very differently by different people.
Sometimes people have done things they probably should feel shame about, while many others have not; they only think they should feel ashamed because an authority figure has told them to. Everyone feels shame; it's the rule and not the exception. Find a reputable psychotherapist to speak with in a safe place.
