I have a lump on my back that hurts to touch it's red so I thought it may have been a spot but there is no head on it had it for a week now?

Lump. Painful lump in the back most probably an infected sweat gland or sebaceous gland. If gets bigger and painful get a professional help to have it treated with medicine, some times may need lancing or excission.
Cyst or boil. Since the lump is red, tender and has been present for a week, I recommend that your physician examine you and treat this if necessary. In the meantime apply warm applications and if purulent and bloody drainage develop keep the surrounding area clean and dry, apply bacitracin, keep a clean gauze over it with paper tape.
