In brief: Separation anxiety

Does your baby cry or show displeasure when she loses sight of you? Does she do the same thing when somebody else picks her up and sees you away from her? If you answered yes, she is starting to show separation anxiety which usually appears at this age.
These episodes are repeated in her sleep and cause her to cry. Just do nothing and ignore her crying. She will grow out of it in about 6 months.

In brief: Hang in there!

Night terrors can occur from infancy through adulthood; 1-6% of kids have them. It's most common between 4-12 years for kids and between 20-30 years for adults.
Most childhood onset sleep terrors resolve by adolescence. Other than ensuring that there's nothing in the crib your baby could bang on, there is not much to do except make sure that your baby has a consistent sleep schedule.
