Why in the world would someone drink HOT liquids when they have bronchitis? HOT increases blood flow and inflammation. Cold always helps me more.

In brief: Yes and No.

Yes, hot may increase blood flow locally but it does not strictly produce inflammation.
Hot primarily feels good to the throat which may be irritated with bronchitis. I doubt there is any effect on the bronchial passages. If cold works best for you it is certainly reasonable to do that instead.
