I am on Lexapro (escitalopram) and remeron for G A D.I am also on 10mg diazepam. Is it o k to take magnesium daily as I find it good for headaches. Thanks?

Depends. Well, it kind of depends on the type of magnesium you're taking. Stay away from magnesium citrate - as this can interact with Lexapro (escitalopram) to cause unsafe levels of low sodium (we call it hyponatremia). However, magneium gluconate is fine and should offer you the help with headaches. Hope that helps! Read more...

I am on antidepressants remeron and lexapro, (escitalopram) diazepam and a sleeping tablet. Is it o k to take magnesium 200mg daily. Thanks?

Magnesium's OK. The Remeron and Lexapro (escitalopram) are risky in combo and you might ask your doctor to watch that closely and it is always important to remind them of all medications/supplements you take or plan to take. You are wise to think about this issue so talk to the Doc or a pharmacist for details. Best! Read more...

You are. much better off taking WATER and LOTS OF IT! Most constipation due to medications respond to increased fluids and medication like Metamucil (bulk) Try to avoid harsher bowel purges like MgCitrate! Hope this helps! Dr Z. Read more...
See answer. How do you know your constipation is from Lexapro (escitalopram)? See your pcp to make sure there are no other reasons. Changes to your diet, eg. increasing fiber, eliminating processed foods, and increased exercise should be considered before taking any more meds. I hope this helps. Read more...
