In brief: If Rx fails-surgery
We do everything not to operate especially in the post partum period but if long standing drainage-infection- drainage-- abscesses we will make a circumareolar incision and tie off the ducts under the nipple and remove all surrounding inflammatory tissue.

In brief: Keep pumping
Try to keep the breast milk flowing, either with the baby sucking or pumping.
Recurrent mastitis can be common. I recommend consulting with a breast surgeon who can help manage this problem.
